CALSHA TEACHES TECHNOLOGY TO PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES

Calsha Computer Technologies, the New Training Provider for Prince George's County Government

Calsha Computer Technologies ("Calsha"), an information technology firm in Lanham, Maryland, has just been named the learning management provider for Prince George's County Government, states Shawn P. Richmond, the company’s CEO. After more than a year of proposals, bids, presentations, and evaluations, Prince George’s County Government designated Calsha as its new training provider.

The County is "delighted that a home-grown company has been enabled and selected to deliver instructor-led technology training to County employees. In addition to helping to grow a local business, this positive series of steps also strengthens the abilities of County staff, by increasing their knowledge of and use of high-tech products and enhancing the efficiency and quality of the services offered by the County".

"Calsha is one of 19, high-tech companies who are thriving in the Technology Assistance Center (TAC), created by and located in the offices of the Prince George's County Economic Development Corporation(EDC), at 4640 Forbes Boulevard, Lanham", states Joseph J. James, the EDC’s President and CEO. It is at this location that County employees will partake in live, personal, and professional technology training.

Calsha will deliver training of approximately 300 course titles to the County's nearly 7,000 employees in two dynamic forms: instructor-led classes at Calsha's state-of-the-art training facility in Lanham, Maryland, and online via the Web.

Instructor-led Training

Calsha designs and implements cost effective training programs that maximize its clients' productivity and trains several hundred learners per year at Calsha's training centers and at client sites.

Web-based Training

Recognizing the need for flexibility amid the varying schedules of the "County that never closes", Calsha has partnered with KnowledgeNet, Inc., "the best of a new breed" in web-based training, to deliver to the County a customized learning management system which accommodates students online, 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.
