FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
PRESS RELEASE
LANHAM, PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD (March 31, 2003)-- Calsha Computer Technologies ("Calsha"), an information technology firm in Lanham, Maryland, will be the first company to graduate from the Technology Assistance Center (TAC) Incubator, announced Joseph J. James, President and CEO of the Prince George's County Economic Development Corporation (EDC). "Calsha was one of the first companies to establish a presence in the (TAC) Incubator, created by and located in the offices of EDC at 4640 Forbes Boulevard, in Lanham," states James. "The EDC created the TAC Incubator, in November 2001, as part of an effort to promote the attraction, development and retention of emerging high-tech businesses in the County." Calsha moved into the TAC December 1, 2001. Shawn P. Richmond, Calsha's CEO, states, "Calsha's mission is to grow steadily and profitably as a company in Prince George's County, based on the strength of our staff and our commitment to quality service. The TAC Incubator and support from the EDC has been immensely helpful in our growth and development, enabling us to establish an independent office in the County by June 2003." Calsha was named the technology learning management provider for Prince George's County Government in February. "The EDC was instrumental in guiding the company through the County's procurement process," says Mrs. Richmond. "Calsha is one of 18, fledging, technology companies who are thriving in the TAC Incubator," says EDC's James. "We are very proud of the growth of this local business and to have assisted Calsha in its efforts to secure their County contract. In the months that Calsha has been part of the incubator, it has blossomed into a stable and prospering technology firm." ABOUT THE COMPANY: Calsha is a certified Minority Business Enterprise company, delivering technology education solutions for clients in the public and private sectors. Certified technology experts having more than 25 years of combined technology and training experience formed Calsha in January 2001, as a home-based business providing refresher and continuing education instruction from a transformed basement classroom. Slightly less than a year later, Calsha's owners, Shawn and Calvin Richmond, needed a professional office environment to respond to the growing demand for their services. It was then that Calsha moved into the TAC incubator. Calsha's staff consists of certified instructors and experienced management and operational staff members. Calsha has built a reputation as a quality, service-oriented, training company and builds upon this reputation by customizing or creating nearly any course to meet the needs of their clients. Under the terms of its contract with Prince George's County, Calsha delivers first-rate training, under approximately 300 course titles, to the County's nearly 7,000 employees in two dynamic forms: (1) At Calsha's state-of-the-art training facility in Lanham, Maryland, and (2) online via the Web, which accommodates students 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.
